Awaiting Photo

Andrew began his involvement with the cadet organisation in 1990, initially at City of London School CCF and then at 342 (Ealing & Brentford) Squadron as a cadet rising to the rank of Cadet Warrant Officer. Andrew achieved much of what the organisation has to offer with personal highlights being the International Air Cadet Exchange, the Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award and a fast jet flight at RAF Valley.

While studying International Relations at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, Andrew was commissioned into the RAFVR(T), while simultaneously being a member of the University Air Squadron at RAF Leuchars. Andrew also successfully completed a flying scholarship at Tayside Aviation at Dundee Airport. Following an initial spell at 2435 (St Andrews) Squadron, Andrew eventually took command of 2345 (Leuchars) Squadron in the rank of Flight Lieutenant, where he focused on squadron expansion and integration with the busy fighter station.

Following completion of his university studies, Andrew moved to York, where he completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law followed by the Legal Practice Course, while remaining an active officer at 110 (City of York) Squadron. Andrew also went on to complete his civilian flying and obtain a JAA Private Pilots Licence in the USA.

After 6 years studying in the north, Andrew moved back to London and re-joined 342 (Ealing & Brentford) Squadron initially as a squadron officer, taking command in 2006. In civilian life, Andrew is a solicitor at an Clyde & Co LLP, an international law firm in the city, where he predominantly specialises in aviation law and litigation.

Andrew has been a continuous member of the air cadet organisation for 17 years during which time he has in amongst other things had the opportunity to fly many of the aircraft types currently and formerly in the Royal Air Force inventory. Andrew believes the organisation is unrivalled in the opportunities it provides to youth to develop and excel, build confidence and really enjoy a wide ambit of activities, which would not otherwise be available outside of regular service life.
